Change Ahead

Change is coming. I can feel it.

Of course, there are situations in my corporate life that are significant, worldwide changes that will affect me. So, yeah, it's a bit obvious.

But as I write this, the thought occurred to me, isn't there always change coming?

Isn't that the definition of life?

Every day is a new breath, a new thought, different things to experience.

As soon as there is absolutely no change, then you are dead. (Actually, I guess a whole new change opens up, but that's not what this post is about.)

Change is constant. You've heard that. But let's consider what that means for our daily living.

If change is constant, then we manage change every day. So why would any change be different?

Well, some changes are more significant than others.

Are they? Or do we make them bigger in our minds?

Our reality is based on our perceptions of what is happening to us. So how we see or 'perceive' the changes in our life is what makes meaning and creates joy or pain.

So what do we want? Joy or pain? If joy, then let's find the perception that will give us that in a certain 'changing' circumstance.

Easier said than done.

This is something I will be working on.

(Wow, writing really helps me think.)
